Strategic Planning

In today's fast paced business environment, "speed to market" and product/service innovation are key to competing in the insurance industry. Organizations need to be prepared to transform business models and operations quickly in response to competition, the ever changing legal environment and customer demand. Hence, a strategic plan must be designed with agility and maneuverability in mind.

But developing a Strategic Plan can be a daunting task that requires time and resources – resources that the organization may not have or does not want to expend. Insurance Concepts and Services insures that your
organization receives an agile blueprint that functions over time. While the “journey is lead by us", much of the effort is given by you in order to have a strategic plan that speaks to the uniqueness of your purpose. We believe in the ability of planning to optimize your results.

Policy Consulting

Product Innovation
As a provider of specialized policy writing services, we have an appreciation for the challenge of adapting policy forms to the individuality of a specific insurer.

ISO (Insurance Services Office), AAIS (American Association of Insurance Services) and the NCCI (National Council on Compensation Insurance), develop policy forms and rating information used by thousands of property and casualty insurers. However, most of these policy forms are written for use by insurers for several different classes of business or even for a particular class of business without taking into account the unique needs or goals of a particular insurer.

An insurer may want to tailor the coverages for a particular class of business by using the forms of one of these providers as a base but further clarify, restrict or expand coverages. For example, a company might want to provide a coverage that is not readily available to gain a competitive advantage through product innovation and differentiation. As an alternative, an insurer may want to have a completely proprietary policy form.

Policy Interpretation
Because of the technical nature of insurance and the fact that insurance policy language is often complicated and not easily understood, IC&S provides an invaluable look "under the hood" at your policy language. By
utilizing case law and careful analysis to advise and support our clients, we identify areas for clear and unambiguous policy language.

As Robert J. Prahl, CPCU, Director of Education for AAIS, points out, "Insurers are responsible for interpreting rather complex policy language that ordinarily has a legal as well as a commonsense meaning. This responsibility exists in an environment that is characterized by extensive competition in which customer service and good faith relationships with insureds are vital to a company’s success". Our goal at IC&S is to help you build and maintain those relationships with insureds by focusing on the details of your policy language.
